Grab bar installation for your homeGrab bar installation · Belle Isle, FL
Belle Isle is a small lake city of mostly owner-occupied homes, and more than half of them were built before 1980. This year we installed five bars in one Belle Isle home, a job set up through a home care provider.
Belle Isle was founded in 1924 by residents who wanted to protect Lake Conway and its chain of lakes from being used for county drainage. The city's government lapsed in 1928 and was re-established in 1954. Neighborhoods such as Nela Isle, Venetian Gardens, and Oak Island were platted in the 1920s.
Census estimates put the median year built for Belle Isle homes at 1977. About 57% of homes were built before 1980 and 37% before 1970. Only about 9% of homes are rented, and 24% of residents are 65 or older, above the Florida rate of 21% (U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 estimates).
Long-time owners in older houses is exactly where grab bars help: a tub that's harder to step over than it used to be, or a toilet with nothing to hold. The big downtown Orlando hospitals are a short drive north, so many Belle Isle recoveries come home to these houses.
Many Belle Isle ranch homes from the 1950s through the 1970s have concrete block outside walls, often finished inside with plaster or drywall over wood furring strips. Original bathroom tile from that era was often set in a thick mortar bed, which is harder and thicker than tile on modern backer board.
Older walls like these can hide surprises, so we look before we drill and choose the method for the wall in front of us. Remodeled bathrooms may have tile over cement board or drywall on wood studs. No stud where the bar should go? That's what our commercial-grade grab bar fasteners are for. The maker rates them for up to 600 lbs in drywall with tile, and they're made to exceed building codes and ADA guidelines. Where a stud or blocking does line up, we use it. If we ever use a different fastener, it's comparable or better.
Caregivers and home care agencies can book for a client, and we keep the family in the loop. Our bathroom safety and aging-in-place guide covers where bars help most.
$185 per grab bar installed, one flat price wherever you are in Belle Isle. A five-bar job like the one above is $925 in labor; three bars are $555.
Grab bars not included. Your final price is confirmed with your estimate.
Before we drill, your tech walks through each spot with you: who will use the bar, which hand they lead with, and where their hand naturally goes. We hold the bar up, adjust, and mark the wall only once you're happy with it. We can't promise that a plan, grant, or program will approve a claim, and some plans ask for a letter of medical necessity from your doctor, so check with your plan administrator first.
See full pricing or get a free estimate. We schedule Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM.
Every bar we install comes with our lifetime workmanship warranty for as long as you own your home or building: if a bar loosens because of how we installed it, we fix it free. The bar itself is covered by its maker's warranty, and damage, misuse, and pre-existing wall problems aren't covered. We also come back for a free inspection at one year.

Yes, mounted the right way. Older homes can have block or plaster walls and thick mortar-set tile, so we check first. We fasten into studs or blocking where they line up, and use commercial-grade grab bar fasteners where they don't.
