Grab bar installation for your homeGrab bar installation · Maitland, FL
Not every grab bar goes in a bathroom. One recent Maitland job was a 36 in. bar in a garage, plus a handrail at the front door. Wherever it goes, a grab bar is $185 installed.
Maitland was incorporated as the Town of Lake Maitland in 1885 and took its current name in 1959. In the 1950s, Martin Marietta moved families to its new Orlando plant, and nearby Maitland filled with ranch homes. The city added twelve new subdivisions between 1972 and 1979, and a historic corridor near Lake Lily keeps homes from the 1880s through the early 1900s.
Today Maitland has more renters than owners. Census estimates show about 56% of homes rented and 57% in apartment or condo buildings. The median home was built in 1996, and about 24% were built before 1970 (U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 estimates).
That mix changes who calls. In a rental or condo, the landlord or association may need to approve the work, and a landlord may want the itemized invoice. If you manage units, see our commercial and ADA grab bar page.
A 1950s or 1960s Maitland ranch usually has concrete block outside walls with plaster or drywall inside, and original bathroom tile may be set in a thick mortar bed. A garage wall is often bare block, or drywall over studs. Newer condo and apartment buildings may use metal studs in interior walls.
Each one is different, so we check the wall before we drill. Where a stud or solid blocking sits behind the spot, we fasten into it. Where nothing solid is there, we use commercial-grade grab bar fasteners, rated by the maker for up to 600 lbs in drywall with tile and made to exceed building codes and ADA guidelines, so the bar can go exactly where it's needed even without a stud. If we ever use a different fastener, it's comparable or better.
The step from the garage into the house is a common place to lose balance. Our home grab bar installation page covers bars beyond the bathroom, at entry steps, stairs, hallways, and bedside.
$185 per grab bar installed, one flat price wherever you are in Maitland. Two bars are $370 in labor; one bar is $185.
Grab bars not included. Handrails are quoted separately. Your final price is confirmed with your estimate.
Before we drill, your tech walks through each spot with you: who will use the bar, which hand they lead with, and where their hand naturally goes. We hold the bar up, adjust, and mark the wall only once you're happy with it. We can't promise that a plan, grant, or program will approve a claim, and some plans ask for a letter of medical necessity from your doctor, so check with your plan administrator first.
See full pricing or get a free estimate. We schedule Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM.
Every bar we install comes with our lifetime workmanship warranty for as long as you own your home or building: if a bar loosens because of how we installed it, we fix it free. The bar itself is covered by its maker's warranty, and damage, misuse, and pre-existing wall problems aren't covered. We also come back for a free inspection at one year.
